Varney Playground Pickleball
Varney Playground in North Chelmsford, MA, offers a great spot for pickleball enthusiasts with its single outdoor asphalt court. This dedicated pickleball court features a permanent net and lines, ensuring a proper and consistent playing experience. The facility operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, as reservations are not available. This makes it an ideal location for spontaneous games.
Additionally, the court is available for free (!), making it accessible to all players interested in enjoying a game of pickleball.
Aside from pickleball, this is a GREAT park, open from dawn until dusk. It’s a free public facility available to residents and non-residents. The park features lifeguard services, a bathhouse (open when lifeguards are on duty), and allows hand-launched small boats on Freeman Lake. The park prohibits fishing from the beach, grills, cooking, open flames, alcoholic beverages, smoking, glass bottles, and feeding ducks or geese.
