The 4 pickleball courts in John Murphy Square (Jamaica Plain) are some of the nicest outdoor courts in Boston; these are open to all and available on a first-come first-serve basis; the pickleball courts are very well maintained which is a pleasant surprise.

Since all of the John Murphy Square pickleball courts are outdoor (4), you may need to bring your own pickleball net. Some of the nets are in not great shape so you may not want to take a chance.

Boston has many options to play pickleball; there are some private courts (not run by Boston) that are particularly good. The pickleball courts run by the Boston Recreation Department are fine for beginner pickleball players. As the demand for pickleball courts increases in Massachusetts, Boston may need to invest in pickleball courts and facilities.
